There is plenty of advice available online about onboarding new employees into your business however this can be a very time consuming process. If an employer keeps false or incomplete records the Employment Relations Authority can fine an employer up to $10,000 for an individual, or up to $20,000 for a company per breach. Do keep in mind that new starters must sign and return their employment agreement documentation before they start for the 90 day trial period clause to be valid in New Zealand.
